An Industrial Design filed in India is only valid for the jurisdiction of India and cannot be legally upheld in other countries. However, Industrial Designs can be filed with other countries through their own jurisdictional offices. It might seem like a lot of filing will need to be made if you want to protect your Design on a worldwide scale but many jurisdictional offices allow you to actually cover multiple countries in one filing.
